This breathtakingly beautiful Grade II listed building was purchased with the intention of converting the existing residential and attached commercial parts into one residential scheme for the optimal lifestyle environment. A long consultation with the local authorities and National Trust resulted in planning being granted for two three bedroom town houses; and a two bedroom flat, whilst maintaining part of the commercial use as a retail unit. A long consultation with the local authorities and National Trust resulted in planning being granted for two three bedroom town houses; and a two bedroom flat, whilst maintaining part of the commercial use as a retail unit.

Due to the building being listed it was important to keep the property in line with National Trust requirements. This meant that our craftsmen on the project had tight limitations which were kept to under strict review during the development.

The three residential buildings were sold and the commercial unit retained.

Many of the original features were maintained, yet it was crucial to ensure that the buildings offered all of the contemporary features that today’s house buyer expects.

Whilst remaining sympathetic to the importance of historical authenticity we were also able to create modern day elegance with top of the range kitchens, roof lights and quirky spaces – to bring the project into the modern era.
